Video explains online renewal of registration which is now open

10 Oct 2016

A new video explains online renewal of registration which is now open for pharmacists.

Pharmacists who are due to renew their general or non-practising registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (the Board) by 30 November can apply online now.

A video explaining how to renew registration online is available on the Practitioner Services page of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) website.

Board Chair William Kelly suggested anyone unsure about how to renew their registration should watch it.

‘The four minute video clearly describes the quick and easy online renewal process,’ he said.

‘It covers how to access online renewal, what must be declared about a pharmacist’s previous 12 months’ practice, how to pay the registration fee and what happens next.’

Pharmacists are reminded to carefully read the Board’s registration standards which specify the profession’s standards of practice before making the required declarations in their application for renewal of registration.

Last year 98.4 per cent of all health practitioner registration renewals due by 30 November (12 professions) were submitted online, an increase of 0.8 per cent.

Look out for reminders to renew

A series of reminders to renew are being sent to pharmacists by AHPRA on behalf of the Board. The email reminders include a link to online renewal.

If you have not yet received a reminder email please check your contact details held by AHPRA are up to date. This is easily done by logging in to online services via the homepages of the Board or AHPRA websites. A User ID and current password are needed to log in.

Last month the Board announced that the registration fee for 2016/17 had been set at $328, limiting the increase to indexation. It covers the registration period for most pharmacists of 1 December 2016 to 30 November 2017.

A fee schedule, including the fee arrangements for pharmacists whose principal place of practice is NSW1, is published on the Board’s website.

Useful information for pharmacists is on the Board’s website:
